About CompCon 2016
CompCon is a national conference for students of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and related technology disciplines. CompCon is run by students, for students!
CompCon was previously run in 2013 and 2015 with over 100 students from across Australia in attendance!
The conference will be held at The University of Queensland, from 1-3 October 2016.
At CompCon you can explore new areas of the varied and diverse world of computing. You’ll get the opportunity to explore some areas of computer science that you don’t cover in the curriculum, with talks about leading research and workshops introducing you to new programming languages and other interesting technical concepts!
You’ll also get to meet other computing students from around Australia, and network with representatives from prominent Australian and international technology companies.
At CompCon 2016, you’ll get:
- Talks by industry professionals, academics and researchers
- Hands-on technology workshops
- Social events
- Hacking sessions
- Conference dinner
...and more!

Host Organisation - UQ Robotics
The UQ Robotics Club connects students interested in robotics and technology to other students, staff and mentors. The club provides resources such as lab access and funding along with opportunities for members to improve their technical skills by working on individual and group projects, competitions and more.
The club hopes to engage academics and industry with its activities so students know what fantastic things are happening both at UQ and in the wider community! For more information see the UQ Robotics Website.
CompCon Incorporated
CompCon is managed by CompCon Inc, a charitable non-profit organisation incorporated in the ACT.
