Abstract:

It's 2016. The machines already rule our lives from banking, relationships, cars, phones. Mass riots break out when Pokemon Go drops out. OpenSSL records a new vulnerability, we all lose our minds. Android fails at full disk encryption. Javascript is everywhere. Why are we not able to write quality code? Where did we go wrong? And what can we do in the future to fix our industries epic mistakes and systemic failings? Basically a presentation on "Everything University won't teach you about the world 101".
